Additional Information

The RCMP conducted an initial ground search with local Search and Rescue volunteers for about a day and a half. During that time they also did an air search with a helicopter. They searched a wooded area near where Tom lived. The area did not have any real significance other than its proximity to the house and that Tom had walked there a few times before. About two weeks after they’d called off the initial search there was a water search of a small section of a local river. About nine months after Tom went missing there was a second ground search in the same area with volunteers and a cadaver dog. None of these searches revealed any information.
