On the morning of April 21st, 1972, Francis Muriel Harris and her husband Stanley went to an appointment in Peterborough. They then went to the post office and bank in Lakefield. It is believed that they both returned home by 11 a.m. Stanley left for work by 1:00 p.m. Francis’s son Rod returned home from school around 3:40 p.m. and his mother was not there. Francis was a wife and mother of three at the time of her disappearance. She did not take any personal belongings with her and hasn’t been seen or heard from since. Excavation of the foundation of the old family house was completed in November 2012 by a specialized search unit from Bolton with no findings. The unexplained disappearance of Francis has been documented over the years — including by Ryan Scott, a licensed private investigator who volunteers with Please Bring Me Home.Over the summer of 2021, Scott published a three-part series on the case in Apsley Backroads magazine. Police interest and searches have continued as recently as November 2023, with further searches planned for the spring.SummaryDate of Disappearance: April 21, 1972Location of Disappearance: Apsley, OntarioAge at Disappearance: 45 years oldDate of Birth: November 3, 1926Height: 5’1″Weight: 100 lbsHair Color: Grey coloured blackEye Color: BrownGender: FemaleRace: CaucasianInvestigating Agency: Peterborough, Kawartha Lakes OPP detachment 705-329-6338 Case #20090023Shawn Glassford – Criminal Investigations Branch Orillia 705-329-6338J.P Cantin (retired now)Dental Information: Upper and lower false teethMedical Information: None to noteNotable Identifiers: None to noteClothing/Jewelry: Glasses, a blouse, black shoes, pink and black cardigan, white gold engagement and wedding ringsTattoos: None to notewww.pleasebringmehome.comAnonymous Tip Hotline 1-226-702-2728tips@pleasebringmehome.com ... I truly never know how to begin these posts, especially ones like you are about to read. Maybe that is just fine for an introduction, actually. This is a reminder that although our team is made up of the most incredible people-we are, in fact, human-only human. Being a member of Please Bring Me Home means that you have signed up to help as many as you can, as best as you can, for as long as you can. Before we get into today, we want to recognize the families of Renee Didier, Cole Hosack, and Daralyn Supernant, who are people missing from Dawsons Creek BC and can be found on our website. There was an individual found deceased in the area on April 19th, and our thoughts are with all of those families as they await the identity of the individual. We also want to recognize the family of Mackenzie Trottier missing out of Saskatoon SK, who can also be found on our website. RCMP is conducting a search of a landfill site in the area, and we again want to extend our thoughts to Mackenzies' family as they await news. Today, PBMH conducted a search for Eric Spencer, who went missing in 2018 and was last seen in Honey Harbor ON. At approximately 10:30am. this morning, the PBMH Search Team located human remains and contacted the OPP. As Eric's family was aware of the search being conducted, PBMH notified Eric's family that remains were located. However, the process is in its early stages of identifying the individual. 4 PBMH members stayed at the location of the remains, while the remaining members made their long walk to the nearest roadway to meet with OPP. When OPP arrived, PBMH members showed the OPP to the site of the remains. We want to thank the OPP for their prompt response and professionalism before, during, and after the locating of the remains. We also want to thank the property owners of the area who assisted us with getting to and from the site safely. Our thoughts are with many tonight, including Erics family. We are beside you as you await confirmation. Eric is human-only human, and as fellow humans, we must help as many as we can, as best as we can, for as long as we can. ... See MoreSee Less

Please Bring Me Home
We are looking for volunteers to help with methodical, ongoing searches for Chris Rivers and Luciano Trinaistich. The below story is from Maija Hoggett with the Timmins News.An investigative group is looking for volunteers to help bring closure to a couple of local families. Please Bring Me Home has put a call out for people interested in helping with ongoing grid searches for Luciano Trinaistich, who went missing in July 2007, and Chris Rivers, who's been missing since August 2017.There is a full weekend of searches on May 11-12, after that executive director Nick Oldrieve said they want to have searches every second Sunday. Both of the cases have connections to the west end of Murphy Road. Over eight kilometres long, the road connects Highway 655 to Florence Street (Hallnor Road) north of the Ontario government complex, on the way to the Bell Creek Mine site. Please Bring Me Home was in town last spring for a search. In Northern Ontario, the non-profit group has been involved in investigating the cases of Luke Joly in North Bay and Meagan Pilon in Sudbury. They plan to be slow and methodical when they return to the Timmins area. Oldrieve said people will walk, stop, rake, and repeat."It's literally that painstakingly slow. But that's what we do. We don't want to return back. We want it to be certain that there's no one there," he said.Trinaistich was 79 years old when he went missing. He was last seen on July 24, 2007, according to Timmins Police information on missing people cases. He was last seen leaving his residence to go blueberry picking in the Highway 655 area and his vehicle was located on July 25, 2007, on Murphy Road. Rivers was 44 when he was last seen in Timmins on Aug. 29, 2017. His vehicle was found abandoned in a wooded area of Murphy Road on Sept. 6, 2017.A police ground search of the area turned up no signs of him and the search was suspended. Police later expanded the focus area for another ground search at the end of September 2017.Both of the families reached out to Please Bring Me Home and know that the searches are happening, said Oldrieve. The local police are also notified about searches. For the weekend of May 11 and 12, the group will be going out from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. You can also participate in half days. A couple of people from Please Bring Me Home will lead the weekend-long event, with the hope being to appoint a local leader to take over the ongoing searches."We understand that people may not be able to make every other Sunday work, because of pre-arranged vacations, appointments, illnesses. So we're just asking for a level of consistency of the people that are going to join that they can really try to go out every other Sunday in an organized fashion," he said.If you're interested in participating, email your full name and phone number to search@pleasebringmehome.com ...
