Additional Information

On Friday October 15, 2009, Robert’s father searched at the corner of highway 64 and highway 11 and walked the ditches on both sides. The OPP searched by ATV’s on the Saturday while friends and family also searched. During the search, Robert’s boots were found on a trail near hydro lines. OPP then began a grid search outwards from the location of the boots. They brought in a helicopter for an aerial search. Nothing else was found and it got too dark to keep looking that day. The next day the OPP showed up with a search rescue team, ATV’s, dogs and helicopter, along with 30-40 volunteers. They searched for three more days with no results. The last day some hunters reported seeing a Maple Leaf’s jersey on a trail off of highway 11 and the search shifted to that area. At this point a forensics team was brought in. The next day the search was conducted outward from that area. Later that day that someone reported seeing Robert in North Bay the day before and the OPP called off the search.   In all, over 1000 acres have been searched, along with  food banks, hostels, and everything in between.
