Antonio (Tony) Madeira

On July 13, 2022 a family member of Antonio called the Police between 9pm and 10pm to report him missing. Antonio was seen multiple times by his family before this on July 4th, 9th, and 10th. On July 12th, at approximately 10:30am, Antonio is captured on video surveillance visiting The Beer Store located at Oakwood and Vaughn in Toronto(York) Ontario. This would be a daily trip for him to pick up a beer or two. Antonio was next seen by his neighbor the following morning on July 13th when Antonio was leaving his house to go for a walk. This was also a daily occurrence. Antonio was not seen at The Beer Store this day, and when family went to the house to check on him in the early afternoon, then again at 3pm and 9pm, Antonio still was not home. Antonio was always known to be home before dark and always stuck to the same routes of travel for walking. These routes included using the streets Oakwood, Rogers, Cedric and Robina. There have been unconfirmed sightings at Old Forest Hill Road and Wychwood Barns.

Additional Information

Antonio took his wallet and his keys with him.  He always wore a jacket with sleeves even in the hottest of weather. It is believed that Antonio is experiencing the onset of dementia although undiagnosed.  When discussing diagnosis such as dementia or Alzheimer’s, it  is important to touch on core memories.  Bloor & Davenport as there is a large Portuguese community; Forest Hill Road as his wife used to clean houses there; Wychwood Barns as he lived there for quite some time; Yorkdale as he used to work on the construction sites for expanding Yorkdale; St Michaels Hospital; Fascinated with Construction Sites; Library in Oakwood Antonio going for long walks is very normal, however would always return by nightfall. The house showed nothing out of place and there was no forced entry. Antonio did not have any credit cards and would have $50 cash on him regularly.
