Noreen Anne Greenley at 13 years of age went missing from a Bus Stop in Bowmanvile, Ontario on September 14, 1963. She boarded the Burley Bus that day to go Bowling with her girlfriend and her girlfriends boyfriend. After bowling they walked downtown and grabbed a bite to eat at a popular restaurant. After their meal they continued walking to her girlfriends house. They spent some time there and her girlfriend suggested to Noreen that she would like some time alone with her boyfriend. Noreen left the house to go to the bus stop that was located just steps across the road from her girlfriends house at approximately 11pm. The Burley bus was scheduled to pick up from this location at 11:35 pm. The bus driver stated that there was no one standing at the bus stop at the 11.35pm pick up. It was later reported to police from a neighbor who lived across from the bus stop that he had witnessed an english style type of car, dark in color possibly a 1957 to 1959 Ford Prefect sitting at the bus stop just shortly after 11pm. There was a man wearing a hat in the driver seat. This same type of car was later seen by Noreen’s sister and her friend as it weaved almost hitting them as they were waiting for Noreen to get off the bus. Noreen’s sister recalls hearing Noreen’s screams coming from that same car as it traveled north down Holt Road. Noreen’s sister quickly ran home to tell her parents and her father and older brother hopped in the car to try and track down this car. They were unsuccessful in finding it and returned home to contact Noreen’s friend. Noreen’s friend didn’t know where she was and it was at this point that Noreen’s father called police.

Additional Information
The following is a statement collected by Durham Regional Police Services:
“Between 11:00pm and 11:15pm William Polley of Liberty St. S reported to police that he was with his wife and daughter, driving his mother home to her residence on Waverly Road. He said that he saw a young girl on King Street at the bus stop. He dropped his mother off and when he came back, he saw the same young girl get in the car. The girl sat close to the driver and the car left, travelling westbound. This would be in the direction of Noreen’s home. The car was described as a blue 1957-58 model Prefect car, either extremely well kept or recently painted.”
Any information is important in this case whether it be big or small and could help us find Noreen and bring her home. Together we can help find our missing children.-Kelly Greenley
Area(s) Searched:
Many searches took place by Goodyear and GM employees.
Law Enforcement personnel also conducted dozens and dozens of searches over the years.
In addition to these searches there was a Geophysical Survey which was performed
in 2016 by Renee Wilmon (forensic Anthropologist) of the property
of interest and a Magnetometer Scan as well which did indicate a
large Anomoly that could be large enough to be a car. In 2018 an
excavation was performed by police of the property of interest.
Recent Tip(s): In 2015 a tip was received and reported. The
tipster recognized a similar car matching the description of the
vehicle in question and identified with Noreen’s story. This tip and tipster has lead
the police to a property of interest in Bowmanville Ontario where
said car and Noreen are suspected to be buried deep in the
ground. It is believed that the vehicle was buried there when there
was major road construction being done on Durham Regional
Road 57 now known as ( Bowmanville Avenue) in September of
1963. Property of interest being Durham Regional Road 57,
Concession 8 and Regional Road 3 and not leaving out areas on
Durham Regional Road 57 from Concession 7 to Concession 8. A
second tip has been also brought forth regarding Ontario Hydro
Linesman many years ago during an installation of Hydro Poles
and lines in that area came across a buried car during the
installation of poles but the car was never removed. We are
looking for anyone who would have any information regarding this so we
can locate this buried car to see if it’s involved in Noreen’s abduction.
