Luke Joly-Durocher

Luke Joly-Durocher, 20-year old male from Témiscaming, Québec (Canada) was visiting friends in North Bay, Ontario (Canada) on Friday, March 4th, 2011. Luke and his friends were hanging out having drinks at 683 Sherbrooke Street, in one of four apartments located in the building. There was a huge snowstorm that night. At approximately 11:54 p.m., Luke was seen with three friends on video surveillance in the entrance of Cecil’s Bar on the corner of Main and Wyld Streets in North Bay. Moments later, he was seen again on video, leaving the establishment alone, walking onto the patio, where he initially turned left before realizing he needed to go right in order to make his way back onto Main Street. Some say he was denied entry because he was too intoxicated, while others say the reason is unknown. He could have also left on his own free will. His friends, however, remained inside the bar. Luke was reported missing to the North Bay Police Service on March 7th, 2011. At the time of the initial investigation, police seized Luke's dark navy American Eagle jacket, his prescription eye glasses, a hoodie, his cell phone and a necklace from a residence on Sherbrooke Street where he had been staying with friends. Phone records show that Luke's last communication was a text to his father at 8:51 p.m. on March 4th, 2011 asking for a ride home the next day. It is unknown what Luke was wearing that night, however, it is believed that he was possibly wearing a studded purple belt, as seen in the photos. On March 15th, 2011, a pedestrian contacted police to report that Luke's bank card was found on the 500 block of Sherbrooke Street. Luke's bank account was last accessed on the day he went missing on March 4th, 2011, when he withdrew $20. Investigators held a news conference in October 2019 to announce they’d uncovered a later sighting of Luke at Shooter’s Bar at the Voyageur Inn on Delaware Street, off Algonquin Avenue in North Bay. He was seen socializing, and an employee recalled seeing him at around 3:00 a.m., before he obtained a ride from at least one of the bar’s patrons. Luke has not been seen or heard from since. A reward of $50,000 remains in place for anyone with information on Luke’s whereabouts.
