Oscar David Reyes Lavacude

On Dec 8, 2023, Oscar traveled from Colombia to Vancouver BC. He arrived safely at around 4 pm, met up with a friend. 7 pm went to his pre-arranged hotel, The New Westminster Hotel, The Met Hotel, in Downtown New Westminster. He checked in and then according to the hotel, he left at 5:00am Dec 9. This hotel requires that you perform self-checkout, and he left his key in his room. There has been no confirmation that he left through a specific door and whether he had his blue carrybag with him. He allegedly contacted a lady who was going to rent a room to him, and she said that he could not check in until 1:00 pm. Dec 8 at 7:06 am he sent his dad a WhatsApp message and then he was not heard from again.

The New Westminster Police Department is seeking public assistance in the search for missing person Oscar Reyes Lavacude. Mr. Reyes Lavacude was last in contact with his family on December 9th. Mr. Reyes Lavacude is described as a 28 year-old Hispanic male, standing 6’1” tall, with a slim build, black hair, and brown eyes. Mr. Reyes Lavacude may have a beard and has scars on his hands. Mr. Reyes Lavacude has been known to use ride shares, specifically Uber. At this time, investigators believe Mr. Reyes Lavacude could be anywhere in the province of British Columbia. It is likely that Mr. Reyes Lavacude is traveling with a blue carry on size suitcase. Investigators have made available a photo of the suitcase and are asking the public to make note of what it looks like. “We are asking the public to help us locate Mr. Reyes Lavacude,” stated Sergeant Andrew Leaver. “Mr. Reyes Lavacude’s family is growing concerned for his well-being and they are desperately wanting to hear from him.” If you see Mr. Reyes Lavacude, investigators ask that you call 9-1-1 immediately.
