Marcella (Marcie) Helen Francis Creison
Marcella (Marcie) disappeared in the early morning hours of December 27, 1998, after being released from jail near the Drake Hotel. Before leaving the police station, she called her mother, to say she was on her way home and planned to stop for cigarettes. Her family had been waiting for her with a turkey dinner and Christmas presents to celebrate a belated holiday together, but Marcie never arrived.
Her disappearance was completely out of character. Marcella (Marcie) spoke with her mother every day and would never normally miss contact with her loved ones. She also failed to appear for a scheduled court date shortly afterward.
Marcella’s (Marcie) case became part of the larger investigation into the missing women from Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside in the late 1990s. Although the investigation into the disappearances led to the discovery of DNA belonging to several women at the Robert Pickton farm, Marcie has never been found, and her case remains unsolved.
