Lisa has been missing from Calgary, Alberta, for eight years. Throughout this time, her family has never stopped searching for answers. They continue to hope that information will come forward that can help establish what happened to Lisa and, ultimately, bring her home.

Lisa’s disappearance also raises difficult questions for her family about whether her case received the attention it deserved in the early stages. Her family believes their concerns were not taken seriously enough or acted upon quickly enough, and the delay remains a deeply painful part of their search for answers.

Some media reports have stated that Lisa went missing in June 2018. Her family maintains that this is not accurate.

Lisa spoke with her daughter on her birthday in July 2018. That conversation was the last known contact anyone in her family had with her.

In October 2018, Lisa’s daughter attempted to report her mother missing. According to the family, their concerns were not initially taken seriously, and Lisa was not reported missing at that time.

Shortly later, Lisa’s brother contacted police. According to the family, it was then that their concerns were finally taken more seriously and the circumstances surrounding Lisa’s disappearance began receiving further attention.

For Lisa’s loved ones, the time that passed before her disappearance was formally not taken seriously has been extremely difficult. They continue to wonder what information, evidence or opportunities to establish Lisa’s movements may have existed during those early months and whether anything could have been different had their concerns been acted upon sooner.

At the time Lisa disappeared, she was living a difficult and unstable life. She did not have a personal cell phone or vehicle and relied primarily on friends’ phones and Facebook Messenger to stay connected with people around her.

In the years leading up to her disappearance, Lisa was involved in a volatile and reportedly abusive relationship and oftentimes led her to be admitted to the hospital. Her family had concerns about the circumstances surrounding that relationship and believes that people who knew Lisa during this period may have information that could help investigators better understand the events leading up to her disappearance.

Another area of concern for the family is activity associated with Lisa’s Facebook account. Approximately two years after she was reported missing, around her birthday in April 2020, a check in appeared on her account and remains publicly visible. Because Lisa had already been missing for approximately two years, the unexpected activity raised questions about who may have accessed her account and whether it could provide information about her possible location, movements or contacts.

Lisa’s family has remained actively involved in keeping her disappearance in the public eye and continues to communicate with the Calgary Police Missing Persons Unit. A public missing-person Facebook page is available to share new information, updates and requests for tips when they become available.

Because there have been limited developments in Lisa’s case, there are unfortunately often long periods when there is little new information to share. The page also recognizes the anniversary of Lisa’s disappearance, a particularly significant and difficult date for her daughter because it marks the last time anyone in the family had contact with Lisa.

Eight years is an unimaginable amount of time for a family to live with uncertainty. There have been no answers about where Lisa is, what happened to her, or why she disappeared. Her loved ones have been left without the closure they desperately want and deserve.

Lisa’s family is asking anyone who knew her, crossed paths with her, spoke with her, or may have information about her whereabouts or the circumstances surrounding her disappearance in Calgary to come forward.

No piece of information is too small. What may seem insignificant to one person could be meaningful to an investigation. A single detail, memory, conversation or encounter could help establish Lisa’s timeline, confirm information, identify someone she may have been with, or provide investigators with a new direction to pursue.

After eight years without answers, Lisa’s family continues to hope that someone will come forward with the information that could finally help bring her home.

The Calgary Police Missing Persons Unit are also seeking information about a woman named Angie or Angela who reportedly took Lisa to a hospital shortly before her disappearance and may of been living in the same apartment building as Lisa. Investigators are hoping to identify and speak with this woman as they work to better understand and establish Lisa’s last known movements. Anyone who may know the identity or whereabouts of Angie or Angela, or who has any information that could help investigators understand what happened to Lisa, is encouraged to come forward.
