Clayton McFaul

Clayton McFaul was last seen on August 15, 1986, after leaving the family farmhouse near Havelock to bring water to a sick cow. Clayton lived with his brother and sister-in-law on the farm where he was born and raised, located off Highway 7 east of Havelock.

A quiet, introverted man who had never married, Clayton was known for following the same daily routine and rarely went anywhere alone. When he failed to return home for lunch, something very out of character for him, his family became concerned. The water pail he had used was later found returned to the barn, but Clayton was nowhere to be found.

Heavy rain and lightning storms moved through the area the day he disappeared, and a nearby barn was struck by lightning and burned to the ground. Police searched through the ashes but determined Clayton was not inside. Despite extensive searches of the farm and surrounding area, no trace of him has ever been found.
