  1. I believe it was proven that Paul Bernardo was in Lucknow at a dance the night Lois went missing.
Lucknow is a short distance from her Kincardine home.
A mass murderer was not far from her location – I would start there.

    • As far as I know, Paul Bernardo has been disproven as being involved in Lois Hannas dissappearance. Thank you for the comment. No piece of info is to small.

    • I believe the police did check into that along with Lisa Maas case too because Paul Bernardo had relatives or their cottage was not far from that area too. So many rumors.

    • Bernardo has been ruled out. There is no evidence to suggest he committed any murders before meeting Karla Homolka.

    • This is speculation and rumor. The same stories exist about Bernardo being at the Woodford party where Lisa Maas was last seen. These crimes do not fit Bernardo’s MO.

  2. It was believed that the police did look into Paul Bernardo’s case against Lois Hanna and Lisa Maas. Rumor was Paul had relatives or they had a cottage not too far away from Kincardine/Owen Sound area.

  3. Paul Bernardo was ruled out as a suspect in both Lois and Lisa’s disappearance. He was known to visit the area in the late 1980s, however, he is not a suspect in either case.

    • Wondered why he was ruled out O read somewhere about the farmer seeing someone weating a peach noght gown is this true? what about writing to W5 and other shows to see of more tips come in

      • There is no evidence to suggest that Bernardo committed any murders before meeting Karla Homolka. We will certainly seek out more publicity as it only helps to bring in more tips.

  4. Are the Lois and Lisa case connected? Around the same time of disappearance, heard both cases have suspects in mind, is it the same guy? Suspicious that Ron Vallierre(mass boyfriend at the time)they ended their relationship, a reason for murder and should’ve been looked at as a suspect.

    • There is no connection between the two murders. Yes, correct, Lisa had just left her boyfriend on the Saturday before she disappeared.

  5. I first heard about Lois’ disappearance when I began working at the Bruce in 2007 and rented accommodation just around the corner from her house. Such a tragedy for her and her family. Wasn’t a speck of blood found on a wall in the house, and did this, through DNA testing, ever reveal anything concrete?

    • The police said in the past that they had a profile for the blood but as of yet, nothing of significance has come from it. It could have belonged to any one of dozens of searchers who were in and out of the house after Lois’ disappearance. Also, construction workers were in the house before her disappearance.

      • From what I recall, weren’t there accusations of a cover up on the part of the police? I’d agree they need to go back and re-question certain individuals of interest, and it’s hard to imagine this wasn’t someone she knew relatively well, or was at least familiar with.

        • The Kincardine police force were disbanded in 1995 when the town decided to go with the OPP to save costs. One Kincardine officer was arrested for criminal behaviour and later sentenced in 1991. This officer did work on Lois’ case in the early days; this has been confirmed by Lois’ family and news stories from the time.

          • heard from a co worker that this same officer was fascinated with Lois and after she disappeared, he seemed to go a little crazy.

  6. Is Russell Williams a possible suspect. Did his dad work at the bruce power plant. There is a person of interest is there? Can the police question them again or have some one go undercover? Has there been recent searches or requestioning others her friends etc maybe she shared info that she was being harrassed. Any friends in London or Toronto? Did she have a boyfriend? What possible motive would anyone have to bring harm to her. Did someone move away from area after this happened. Can this possible suspect have there property searched? I watched a program on how an investigator methodically questioned Russell Williams where he finally confessed. Is there any thot that more than 1 person was involved. These questions are going through my mind. Is there going to be another search with dogs with continued loud advertizing to search areas dig outcry from public to have case reopened people reinterviewed and those at tje damce who maybe talking to her etc

    • Yes, we will continue to promote this case in the hopes someone will come forward. Very unlikely a serial killer is responsible although not impossible. Close to 80% of murders perpetrated on women are committed by someone the victim knows such as a friend or acquaintance.

    • We are not able to confirm any specific case details as we are not privy to the OPP investigation. We are private citizens. However, we do not believe that Williams’ was ever a suspect. We send all tips to the OPP.

    • Yes Russell William’s step dad did work as a nuclear engineer at the nuclear plant and lived in area when he worked there with Russells mother. Russell went by his step dad’s name back then. Stepdad was Dr Jerry Sovka. He married Russel’s mother when he was 7 Nd he travelled the world with them due to dad’s job with the Atomic Energy Canada Ltd. Russell changed his name from Sovka back to Williams before he went into the military. Makes me think he wanted to start fresh because he already had something on his record that the military would raise their eyes about.

  7. Has anyone checked lake huron or georgian bay saw for Joe Moore a coat washed up yo shore

  8. I cant believe all these years there has been person of interest what about the blood drops found anyone do DNA has person been reintervied lately what about persons who reside with them or searches in their home . It makes me angry that this person and others on Bruce Coynty area could still ne out there and Lois life was probably snuffed out because of their evil actions. I hope your organization will grow its sad that so many unresolved missing person cases. I was looking at Mistie Murray from Goderich and Lisa Mass and other stories in the area Neil Mcdougall cigarrett butts did they save any or any forensic evidence is that vehicle still around? Too bad their was not this organization years ago with the persistance to bring these people Home and find out who was involved so they can be prosecuted. Surely there must be accomplances that know something. Was the lady at the store in Lois Hannas case did Lois confide in her that someone was harassing or threatenng her and thats why she climbed through her window ?

    • There is a person of interest in both Hanna and Maas cases. This has been reported before via the media, however, physical evidence is lacking. Someone does know something and eventually someone will talk or make a mistake. The blood at the Hanna house may be from any one of countless people who were in the house over the three weeks after her death. It may not be from the person responsible.

      • Someone i know who has very accurate visions told me 18 year’s ago that Lois was buried by a large stone kinda haunting with the new evidence

    • i remember that pile of ashes well..the guys would not let me empty it.im pretty sure they were john players cigs n colts rum flavoured tips…..that s the the way we left after touring around with the truck….
as far as neil goes i have no idea what become of him….it certainly was a strange time during the next month..no one was talking or hangin around the bar and socializing…i guess it really impacted a lot of people..

    • She climbed through the window because all of the doors were locked and it was the only way to access the house.

  9. On the morning of Lois`s disappearance, two men were seen at her place of work MacG`s clothing store. Nobody had seen these men before. They had sketches of them years ago. They really should enhance them to give people an idea of what they would look like now. I think that might really help catch these guys.

    • Has anyone read the book SICK by Cindy Lee Loucks. She is an author from London Ontario and has written a very damaging book accusing her father of Hannah’s death as well as numerous others. The book is full of information. I read it and I can’t believe the police don’t look into her accusations. Too many coincidences equal circumstances. Please read the book

  10. On the morning of Lois`s disappearance, two men were seen at her place of work MacG`s clothing store. Nobody had seen these men before. They had sketches of them years ago. They really should enhance them to give people an idea of what they would look like now.

  11. Why would they be at the store did any one observe what they were doing does this store exist today was it ever searched

    • Susan…I heard that they were asking where Lois was that morning. Yes, that store still exists. You can google it. I don`t know if the store was searched or not but they did have sketches of the two men years ago.

  12. It appears Lois was forced to leave the house against her own will or was not in a position to resist. Was she expecting someone after she got home from the reunion dance? The half finished cup of tea which was discovered might be revealing. Was it a bedtime blend, which she might normally have had before retiring to help her sleep? Or was it caffeinated, so she would be more alert before the expected person arrived? It’s interesting that there is a common person of interest in both the Hanna and Maas cases. BTW, I’ve been studying the Lindbergh Kidnapping Case for many years and I’m sure this case ranks right up there with some of the more complex ones, by virtue of it not being solved right away and then investigators having to deal with a veritable mountain of information, very little of which may be of value.

  13. It sounds like a lot of puzzle pieces are still not known although I hope for the familys sake some answers come quickly and people are reinterviewed esp her close friends etc and Justice. I wish they could find Lois and have evidence to put who is responsible behind bars Can u imagine all the missing people and the evil people responsible and their still out there makes u wonder if they have or have any risk of doing harm again- scary!

  14. I listened on the radio today about Lisa Mass I’m just wondering if there will be any searches regarding Lois Hanna .I listened on the radio today about Lisa Mass I’m just wondering if there will be any searches regarding Lois Hanna , and if you’re any closer to finding a her or whoever is responsible and years ago they had a suspect and in that TV interview the family even said that they went to that eastern Ontario town so I’m not sure why things haven’t progressed to get this resolved or for some closure for the family

    • There is a person of interest but we are not able to comment further on any details of this investigation. We conduct digs and searches based on credible information and at this time, we have specific location/s to search for Lisa Maas. We are hopeful that the same will ring true for Lois in the near future. Someone knows something.

  15. The Rescue Mediums (Season 1 Episode 7)–were looking around that house and frame of the mill.
Didn’t anyone go around there with sonar equipment or doing any digging behind that house to look for bones?

  16. Are the police still actively involved and has the person of interest and aqaintanences being reinterviewed giving DNA samples lie detector test searches of home etc

    • We are not privy to any details around the investigation being conducted by the OPP. We do forward all tips to the detective in charge of the case.

  17. What about see if the familys could see if W5 could talk about Lois and others. Tonight they spoke sbout a baby from Kincardine in 1990 which they sre going to reopen the case the baby was recovered the details are on the program. I thought of Lois esp it happened in Kincardine

  18. 1988 seems to have been a busy year for Kincardine… Jan 1988 Dusty Bowers was kidnapped/murdered; 6 months later Lois Hanna was kidnapped/murdered?. I wonder if there is a connection…
Was there a suspect in the Lois Hanna case that worked or had ties to the Kwik K variety store downtown Kincardine?

    • Yes, two unsolved murders/disappearances in roughly six months is a lot for a small community. We are not aware of any ties.

      • Have you read the book Sick by Cindy Lee Loucks. She is the sister of Leo Loucks the well known kickboxer and also veteran police officer. She writes in her book about how she feels her dad is responsible for the disappearance of Lois and others.

  19. What about trying to get and show the forensic sketchs of the 2 men outside of the store asking for her

    • This was already done back in 1988. The police appealed to the public for information. The sketches were published in local papers.

  20. The theory of a lot of the townspeople (and Donna was mayor and I worked at the town hall and got a lot of gen about the search for Lois) that fitted the best was Lois worked at the boutique that faced the park behind the town hall – Lois lived in town but came from Lucknow and was coming home from the Old Boys or something similar in Lucknow. They think she might have come off the highway very late at night or early hours of the morning and on her way through town saw a light on in the store as she went by and stopped and went to investigate.

At this time there were a number of businesses in town being broken into, Canadian Tire, Maureen’s, etc. Don’t exactly remember the timing as to when or how they came to know or arrest the policeman, but when he was busted they found a mass of keys in his possession that after they investigated fitted a lot of the locks of the businesses in town and surprise those that reported break-ins, thoughts are she surprised him during the break-in and he panicked and tried to shut her up, or panicked and things got out of hand because she recognized him straight away, who knows. He was a typical Kincardine cop, big and beefy and not so bright.
Her path from Lucknow that night would of lead her straight past that store.

    • Very interesting possibility that Lois went by the boutique she worked at on her way home from the Lucknow Dance, as that route would probably have been the one she took. If she did happen to find someone in the act of robbery, was it someone she recognized, but who somehow managed to allay her fears that he was acting in a suspicious manner? Perhaps he told her he was working in an undercover operation investigating the rash of store robberies at that time. In any case, Lois seems to have gone about her usual nightly routine winding down before bed. Could that same person, who might have feared she would report the incident, have come to her house a little while later to make sure she didn’t?

  21. An interesting thought that Lois might have surprised someone who was in the process of robbing the boutique, while on her way home from the Lucknow dance. One might then wonder though why her house was found in a very normal state that reflected her evening routine, and did not hint of anything that might have suggested she was under duress from the time she may have been at the store that night. But, and for a moment speculating that she did surprise someone robbing the store, what if that person whom she immediately recognized and because of his position in the town, was somehow able to convince her otherwise? Lois might then have left the store and gone home possibly feeling something was not quite right, but able to put it behind her for the time being. She would then have gone about her normal evening wind down routine, until answering a knock on her door a short time later.

  22. I thought people thought she was at the dance and probably followed her home. I wondered about the newer technology DNA geneolgy that they have solved cases that are decades old

  23. Lloyd Hanna worked on my father’s house around the time of the incident. He told my father that he thought her body would be found in the Oliphant area. This is a sad story that I think of often. I wish you luck in solving it.

  24. I was only 9 at the time of Lois’ disappearance, but I remember that time and have been following the case since. We lived just outside of Lucknow. My dad actually had a theory…at the time, he said, the big power towers were being installed coming from the Bruce involving large concrete pads to place the towers on, and people from all over the country installing them. His theory is perhaps her body is encased in one of these concrete pads. And perhaps the guilty person(s) aren’t even from this area. Just a thought.

  25. I was only 9 at the time of Lois’ disappearance, but I remember that time and have been following the case since. We lived just outside of Lucknow. 26. I thought i had a idea who did this because of a incident with my friend and this guy. I seen someone who had visions and she claimed Lois was buried near a big stone, is that freaky

  27. Someone i know who has very accurate visions told me 18 year’s ago that Lois was buried by a large stone kinda haunting with the new evidence

  28. I remember when I was about 10 years old, my uncle had told me about Lois and her disapperance. He was a friend of Lois’ and he was not impressed with the way the cops handled her case and said that things that the police had said were not adding up. He said it was as if they made up scenarios that didn’t fit in with the actual facts. It is very possible that she was on her way home and noticed some activity at the store and stopped to investigate. The officer that had all these keys could have easily passed it off as he also stopped to investigate and she shrugged it off and continued on her way home. The officer could have followed her home and waited as she went about her bedtime routine and thats when the officer knocked on her door, as she opened the door he asked her to come with him to attend something at the store. He then lead her to the bush, she got away, he eventually caught up with her. He then went back to her house to “tidy up evidence”. He had to make it look like everything was normal by leaving tv, locked all doors and windows except one cause he still needed to get out. The following day when she was reported missing, the police went to the home with the officer she had encountered the previous night. Funny how the only physical evidence was not kept by police…because it was his DNA. Unfortunately my uncle is no longer with us to back up what he told me when I was 10 years old. I wish for her and her family to find the closure they so truly deserve! ?

  29. Russell Williams could be a suspect. His stepfather was an engineer and worked at the Nuclear power plant and Russell was back and forth there. Dr. Jerry Sovka. Williams used the name Sovka while a student at Upper Canada College between 1980 and 1982 and reverted to his birth fathers name going into the military. Why? Some blemish on his record? There was a investigative journalist program on TV that interviewed a woman who indicated Russell Williams was hiding in her house in wait. It sounds like Lois Hanna made it home and someone was hiding in her home. Williams also moved a victim from their home to other locations. So to me more investigation into this should be done. I mentioned this on another website. Also sent info to police.

  30. I also believe there is a possibility Lois stopped by McGee’s clothing store on her way home from the Lucknow dance, perhaps to make sure all looked okay at the store, given the recent rash of commercial break-ins. If she had indeed interrupted a burglary and recognized the perpetrator, she may have given the impression she was not comfortable with him in the store, even if he tried to assuage her fears. Assuming he later went to Lois’s home to make sure she told no one, and she let him in, it seems very unlikely she would have left home of her own free will clad only in a nightgown and robe. The blood spots on the wall seem to point to an altercation and forced exit, or she was killed inside the house and carried away. This would indicate a male of considerable size and strength.

  31. Over the years there has been talk about a woman in a peach nightgown being seen in a farmers field early in the morning after she went missing. I wonder if the people could see well enough to know for sure if it was even a woman or not. Russell Williams liked to wear the clothing of his victims. Maybe it was the kidnapper/murderer who was wearing the peach nightgown (male or female). Hope this case can be solved some day.

  32. We used to know a man named S. F. who knew Lois he said and the family and what was going on at the time. He believer 100 per cent that a close family friend killed her and he believed that it would have accidental. He said that this person then moved to (town removed).
